Brian S. Cihlar was born at the US Naval Hospital in Portsmouth, Virginia on August 28th, 1963 to Jack J. Cihlar and Barbara Ann DeYaeger Cihlar. He left this world peacefully at home, on April 3rd, 2024.

He served in the Army from January 14th, 1981 through October 26th, 1982. He was a decorated sharpshooter on the M-16 rifle and a hand grenade expert. He also observed a short stint in Germany.

Brian was a typical boy, always getting into things he shouldn't have and as he grew some of that stayed with him. He was a quick learner and an amazing talent both in art and sales. He could sell you anything he was selling, whether you needed it or not. He was a self-taught painter, plumber, electrician, tile man, and carpenter. If he remodeled for you, you could expect perfection in everything he did. He always wanted to ensure you were pleased with his work because he took so much pride in his work.

He didn't like staying in one place too long, so he moved about the country over the years. He was always looking for a better landing spot to bring him peace, happiness, and hopefully, fishing!

When he finally landed in Billings, MT, he found a true friend and partner in Debi Behm and a daughter in her little girl, Jennifer Croy. Over the next 25 years, they would travel all over Montana and North Dakota, remodeling houses, creating art, and exploring. Brian did many wonderful things and worked on so many amazing projects throughout the area. He was especially proud of his 25 years of sobriety, the work he did, and his art. One thing he was most proud of was his daughter Jennifer. He loved her so much, supported her, taught her to follow in his footsteps, and was proud to watch her grow and thrive.

Brian will be laid to rest on July 27th, 2024 out in Hungry Horse Montana. He will forever be at peace at his favorite fishing spot and mountain peak.

Rest in Peace Brian

You have no more suffering. You were loved and admired more than you will ever know and are truly missed.
